Question 1

What is reverse purchasing, and how does the full buying process work?

Accepted Answer

Reverse purchasing uses a purchasing agent to buy from China-based marketplaces on your behalf, receive the item at a domestic warehouse, photograph and record it, then forward your parcel internationally. The usual sequence is: find a product link, confirm the live listing, submit the exact color and size, pay the item price and domestic delivery, wait for warehouse arrival, review the QC evidence, resolve any problem, consolidate approved items, and finally choose an eligible international route. The agent manages purchasing and forwarding, but the buyer still decides whether the listing, QC result, packaging and shipping plan are acceptable.

Question 2

How should I use a Sugargoo spreadsheet or curated product link safely?

Accepted Answer

Treat a spreadsheet as a discovery tool, not as a permanent product guarantee. Open the linked marketplace page before paying and confirm that it still shows the same item, seller, price, color, size and included pieces. Product pages can change, variants can sell out and sellers can reuse listings. Save the original URL, screenshots of the selected option and your order notes so that you have a clear reference when the item reaches the warehouse. If the live page no longer matches the spreadsheet entry, do not assume the old description still applies—pause and find a current alternative.

Question 3

What costs should I calculate before placing a reverse-purchase order?

Accepted Answer

Build a landed-cost estimate rather than looking only at the product price. Your budget may include the item price, seller-to-warehouse delivery, optional photos or handling services, packaging choices, international freight, payment or currency-conversion differences, and possible destination taxes or carrier charges. International shipping is often the largest unknown because it depends on the packed parcel rather than the product listing alone. Keep a margin for final measurements and changing route availability. A cheap bulky item can cost more to forward than expected, while several compact items consolidated into one parcel may use the base shipping charge more efficiently.

Question 4

What do warehouse QC photos confirm, and what can they not prove?

Accepted Answer

QC photos can help confirm that an item arrived, the visible color and model appear correct, the quantity matches, labels are present, and obvious marks or construction problems can be seen from the supplied angles. They do not reliably prove fabric feel, long-term durability, hidden stitching, exact color under different lighting, electronics performance or perfect authenticity. Compare the photos with your saved order details before judging appearance. If an important feature is outside the frame, request a targeted image or measurement while the item is still in the warehouse. Approval should be based only on what the evidence actually shows.

Question 5

What should I inspect first when a product reaches the warehouse?

Accepted Answer

Start with order accuracy: product model, selected color, size label, quantity and any bundle components. Then use a repeatable visual sequence—overall shape, left-to-right symmetry, print or embroidery placement, seams, edges, hardware, surface marks and packaging condition. For shoes, compare both shoes and inspect size tags and outsole alignment. For clothing, check the size label, measurements and whether graphics sit straight. For bags, inspect panel shape, handles, zippers and hardware placement. Record any concern clearly; a precise request such as “photograph the inside size label beside a ruler” is more useful than asking for “more QC.”

Question 6

What should I do if the item is wrong, damaged or clearly different from the listing?

Accepted Answer

Do not submit the item for international shipping. Compare the warehouse record with your saved listing and order instructions, then contact the agent promptly with the order number and a concise explanation of the mismatch. Identify the exact issue—wrong size, wrong color, missing piece, visible damage or a material listing difference—and attach the relevant evidence. Ask whether return, exchange, seller negotiation or an additional photo is still possible. Seller rules and return windows vary, and domestic return shipping may apply, so speed matters. Resolve every disputed item before parcel consolidation; correction becomes much harder after overseas dispatch.

Question 7

How should I manage warehouse storage and consolidation for several orders?

Accepted Answer

Use the warehouse period to build a deliberate parcel, not to postpone decisions. Track each order’s arrival date, QC status, return status, weight and packaging needs. Review items as they arrive so one late dispute does not delay the entire haul. Consolidate only items you have approved, and separate fragile, liquid, battery-containing or otherwise restricted products until you know which routes accept them. Check the current storage allowance and any extension or overdue rules inside your account because policies may change. Before submitting the parcel, verify that every intended item is selected and that nothing under review has been included accidentally.

Question 8

Why can international shipping cost more than the estimator suggests?

Accepted Answer

An estimator usually works with preliminary product data, while the final charge is based on the packed parcel and the selected route’s billing rules. A carrier may compare actual weight with volumetric weight and charge whichever basis its rules require. Shoe boxes, padded jackets and rigid protective packaging can create a large parcel without adding much scale weight. Repacking, corner protection, waterproofing and route-specific size limits can also change the result. Compare estimates only after entering the correct destination and product type, then review the measured parcel before payment. When volume is the main uncertainty, rehearsal packing or measured packaging can support a better decision.

Question 9

Should I remove shoe boxes or other retail packaging to reduce shipping cost?

Accepted Answer

It can reduce volume, but it is not automatically the best choice. Removing a shoe box may make a parcel smaller and improve route eligibility, yet the shoes lose rigid protection and the retail packaging will not arrive intact. For collectible, fragile or gift items, keeping the box may be worth the extra billable volume. For ordinary footwear, you might choose box removal together with internal stuffing or other protective packing, if available. Decide item by item and state the instruction before parcel packing. Once packaging has been discarded, it may not be recoverable, so balance freight savings against protection and presentation.

Question 10

How do I choose an international route and handle customs responsibly?

Accepted Answer

Begin with routes currently available for your destination and item types. Compare accepted categories, maximum weight and dimensions, tracking level, estimated service range, compensation terms and the way each route calculates billable weight. Do not choose solely from another buyer’s result; a route suitable for one country or parcel can be unsuitable for yours. Check whether batteries, liquids, cosmetics or branded goods face restrictions. Provide accurate parcel information and follow the destination country’s declaration, tax and import rules. Customs decisions are made by the relevant authorities, so no spreadsheet, seller or agent can guarantee tax-free delivery or clearance.
